September 2002 TK's Korner

What Sets Us Apart From the Rest
You're probably asking, "What makes Sexton/Tom Kubinski different?" Or, "Why should I use Sexton/Tom Kubinski?"

In the 15 plus years that I have been a printing consultant, I have found that for the most part, each company is pretty much the same in respect to having good equipment and capabilities. Typically, one has a little niche over another.

Yet, it is the relationship that one shares with the consultant, their expertise, their ability to bring value to each project via recommendations, showing techniques or samples, delivering on what has been promised etc. That is where I excel.

In addition to selling, I have estimated, job planned/coordinated for three of those 15 years. That gives me/you a great opportunity to evaluate each project to make sure we are able to accomplish all that you have in mind and/or designed. In addition, I bring the following:

  1. Ask questions to make sure the desired effect may be engineered, understand the projects life cycle-one time view disposable or a high profile long shelf life one, make sure the intended design results are accomplished, is it a family member piece that must match others or is it the first and setting the standards for others to follow etc.
  2. Make suggestions on how to get the most for each marketing dollar invested
  3. Save valuable client resources IE time, money, and personnel.
  4. Desire to make a difference by partnering with you. Lets face it, you can't understand all the particulars in my arena, nor I yours. Yet, if we work together and trust one another, we can make each other look great.
  5. Organize tours of paper mills and understand why a certain type of paper will/not work as will you. There are two main ingredients in every job, Paper & Ink. If you understand the differences between each, when to use one over another based on your subject matter or final outcome, then we've just guaranteed a great outcome.
  6. Organize tours of Ink manufacturing, mail house, letterpress shops etc. to aid in a better under standing of all the processes.
  7. Understanding of UV burn and how to manage it. This is one that many still are not aware of and it will burn you in the end.
  8. Compiled a coating technique binder with many one of a kind samples for you to review and use as a design aid to make that next piece stand out from all the rest
  9. Research and write helpful suggestions on various printing topics called TK's Korner. Check it out, there is something for every level/experience www.tkskorner.com
  10. "How did we perform?" golf score card is a great and fun way to evaluate each and every project that we work on together. You will be able to score our team from the beginning of the project all the way to the end.
Sexton also has some very interesting, distinguishing and exciting differences that my prospects turned clients find of value.
